Young Voices 2025
On Monday, January 20th, 80 pupils from Years 4, 5, and 6 at Rupert House took part in an unforgettable experience, joining over 8,000 children at London’s O2 Arena for the Young Voices concert – the largest children’s choir concert in the world!
The day began with the Rupert House pupils arriving at the iconic venue around midday, where they rehearsed alongside thousands of children from schools across the UK, creating an electric atmosphere as the young performers prepared for the evening’s concert – practicing songs and collective dance moves led by the Young Voices Principal Conductor, David Lawrence. As well as practising with the soloists, the children were incredibly fortunate to be joined by the multi-Grammy award winning musician, Jacob Collier, who rehearsed his beautiful song, Little Blue, with them.
The arena filled with an audience of family members and supporters ready for the 7pm concert. The children performed a dazzling repertoire of songs, including Oceana and Get Loud, which were specially composed for the Young Voices series, as well as other popular songs and well-loved medleys from iconic artists like Bob Marley and numbers from Hairspray the Musical.
Adding to the thrill of the evening, the children were joined by special guest artists and the energetic dance group Urban Strides, whose dynamic performances brought even more excitement to the event.
The energy and enthusiasm in the O2 Arena was palpable and for the Rupert House pupils, it was an extraordinary experience which will be remembered as one of the highlights of the school year!
