Year 3 Roman Day
On Wednesday 20th March, Year 3 took part in an exciting day of Roman themed activities to end this term's History topic 'The Romans'.
They beganthe day by getting suited and booted, ready for battle in the afternoon! The children made Centurian helmets and shields, fit for a Roman soldier.
In the afternoon, they marched down to Forest School where the children learned all about Roman soldiers, their marching style and how to use their shield to protect themselves in battle. They practised the 'tortoise' formation and this was put to the test in a battle against the teachers!
After all their hard work, the children sat and relaxed by the fire, munching on their delicious homemade Roman bread.
