Minibuses for Mencap

During the past three summer breaks, we have gladly given Mencap the opportunity to borrow our school minibuses to enable guests and volunteers to get away on holiday.

Here's what Julia Fairbairn from Oxford and District Mencap has to say about the arrangement:

Rupert House school have generously loaned a 17-seater minibus to Oxford and District Mencap (ODM) since 2019. ODM runs summer holidays for people with a learning disability during July and August. Minibuses are essential for taking our guests to a variety of places to give them an enriching and enjoyable holiday. Each guest always has a volunteer with them, and we recruit 80 volunteers each year. For a small charity, the cost of hiring a minibus for several weeks is prohibitive and because of the kindness of Rupert House we are able to spend more on the holiday activities.

This year Rupert house also loaned us the minibus to transport a group of our volunteers doing the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for ODM.

Thank you, Rupert House.
