World Book Day 2025

What an amazing World Book Day we had on the most colourful school day of the year!
Everyone dressed up as their favourite book characters, including the teachers who picked out the Mr or Miss Character who best represents their own personality!
There were book-related activities going on throughout the day, including drawing portraits of ourselves in our outfits and writing about who we dressed up as and why, acting out our characters and sharing our books with one another, creating captivating book reviews, vivid character descriptions and even making our own bookmarks!
We were visited by two amazing authors, Lucy Tandon Copp and Julia Gray. They spoke to the children about their career, their experience and what inspires them. The children were able to ask questions, and the Nursery & Year 1 children were treated to a sneak peek of Lucy’s book, Logan’s Lantern, which is due to be released in 2026.
We finished the day with a book sale to raise money for charity. Rupert House families donated over 1,400 fantastic books suitable for children of all ages. The children had the opportunity to buy the books of their choice before they headed home for the day. The remaining books will be donated to local primary schools. 📚
