Know Yourself, Grow Yourself

The whole school celebrated Children's Mental Health’s Week this week.

The theme of the week was  ‘Know yourself, grow yourself’ with the aim to encourage children across the UK to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them.

In classes, children from Nursery to Year 6 have engaged in various activities focused on recognising their strengths, and they have made statements about what they would like to improve on, what they hope to achieve in the near future and how they might go about achieving their goals. Year 5 children created impressive word art focusing on their strengths. Some of this work has been celebrated on a display board in the corridor for everyone to see and feel proud of.

In assembly on Thursday the Year 5 and 6 children talked to small groups of children from all other year groups about something they feel they are good at or are interested in. They enjoyed presenting to others in this informal manner and there was animated conversation all around the hall which was so wonderful both for the presenters and audience groups. Well done Year 5 and Year 6!
