Dining together: Parents join the school lunch experience
This week a group of parents came into school to join Mr Armitage and Catering Manager, Barry, for a Rupert House lunch.
We offered parents the opportunity to come along and sample the school food. Six parents sat down amongst the children and enjoyed a meal of lasagne with vegetables or salad followed by sponge pudding.
The feedback was very positive, with parents commenting that "the food was really good".
Those who came along said that appreciated having the opportunity to meet the chef and find out more about the variety of food options at lunch time as well as at snack time, about how the school has to balance cost, nutrition, allergies and preparation time, as well as thinking about the food that the children will be keen to eat. It was good to hear that the children are able to put their views across and are listened to, with the termly menus being adapted accordingly.
Thank you to all the parents who came. We look forward to our next parents' lunch on 6th November.
